Magnetic Forces

In Year 5 we have been exploring magnets and magnetic forces. We learnt that a magnet has two poles - the North Pole and the South Pole. We know that if the same poles are placed near each other, then the magnets will repel; whereas if opposite poles are placed near each other, then they will instantly attract and be joint together by a magnetic force.

Here are some photos of us exploring different ways we can use magnets and how they attract each other or repel. We tested our theory of whether some magnets can be attracted through different materials.
